Chandler Public Library Director Rachelle Kuzyk reads a highly anticipated new novel from bestselling author Emily Henry for this month’s book review segment.
I’m always a sucker for a good librarian tale (shocking, I know), so I was naturally drawn to Funny Story by Emily Henry. Fans of Emily Giffin, Colleen Hoover, or Jennifer Weiner will enjoy this light-hearted romcom.
When Daphne Vincent relocates with her fiancé, Peter, back to his hometown in Michigan, she is ready to settle into blissful married life. She lands her dream job as a children’s librarian and everything seems perfect. Perhaps too perfect. Her disbelief when Peter dumps her after reconnecting with his best friend, Petra, on the night of his bachelor party is overwhelming. Peter gives her one week to move out of their home while he jets off for an Italian vacation with his new girlfriend. Petra’s former boyfriend, Miles, finds himself similarly single and with Daphne heartbroken and imminently homeless, they strike up an unusual roommate relationship. Daphne is certain she’ll never recover from the betrayal, but fate may have different plans for her. Reserve a copy of Funny Story for your summer read today!
