Adult English Classes

Adult English Learning Class: Level 1
For adults who want to improve their basic, conversational English skills. Participants should already be comfortable reading and writing in their first language. Registration is required for participation. Registration will open 2 weeks before the class begins.

 

Para adultos que quieren mejorar sus habilidades básicas de inglés conversacional. Los participantes ya deberían sentirse cómodos leyendo y escribiendo en su lengua materna. Se requiere inscribirse para participar. Las inscripciones abrirán dos semanas antes de que comience la clase.

  • Las clases usan el plan de estudios Confianza y Conexiones de Intercambio.  Éste se enfoca en el inglés para la vida diaria, para que los estudiantes obtengan confianza en las conversaciones más importantes de su vida cotidiana.
  • El Nivel 1 se enfocará en la gramática en tiempo presente, palabras de vocabulario comunes, y gramática en tiempo futuro.

Citizenship Workshop

For adults who want to prepare for the U.S. Citizenship interview and written examination FREE of charge. Registration is required.

  • Volunteers facilitate a series of weekly discussions designed for adults who want to prepare for the U.S. Citizenship interview and oral examination.
  • Participants must be 18 years or older.
  • Participants must be able to read, write, speak, and understand basic English.
  • Children/guests not permitted
  • Workshop will cover U.S. history and government, review of the citizenship exam, and how to complete forms.
