Whether you’re a student with an English report (or the parent of one) or just someone who wants to know more about your favorite authors and books, you can learn all this and more with Literature Resource Center. Enter the name of an author or title of a book to search for literary criticism, author biographies, scholarly articles, and more, reprinted as they appeared in the original reference books. You can also get citation tools to help you correctly list the articles in a bibliography or works cited page.

Just looking for something to read? Try Novelist! Browse genres and recommended reads, or look up a favorite book or author to find “read-alikes” – other similar titles and authors. Novelist now offers a “Check Availability” option, a link directly into our library catalog so you can put the book on hold right away!

To access Literature Resource Center or Novelist, start at chandlerlibrary.org and choose Browse the Library > Online Resources > All. Scroll down to choose your resource. You’ll need your library card and PIN to sign in from home. Then start exploring. It’s all free with your library card – Chandler Public Library pays the subscription for you, so there are no ads or paywalls! It’s another benefit to your library card!

Can’t make it to the library to get a card? We offer eCards that allow access to all our online resources. If you’re a Maricopa County resident, you can fill out the online form to register for your eCard.
