MAX Library Access, Minimum Wait

Can’t find the book you’re looking for? Is it checked out, or not in the Chandler Library catalog at all? You have another option – try MAX Library Access!

MAX is a countywide book sharing service between public libraries throughout Maricopa County. If your library does not have a book you are looking for, search MAX to see if it is available from one of our partner libraries. Then you can place your request and it will be sent to the Chandler Library location of your choice, free to you! When you’re finished, just return to book to the same Chandler Library location where you picked it up. Search the MAX catalog now!

There are some things to know about using MAX. For example, MAX can only lend books, not DVDs or other media items. Availability depends on the partner libraries; if the first library you request from is unable to supply the book, you can re-request it and try to get it from another library. There is no renewal for MAX books. Learn more at our MAX Library Access page.

MAX Library Access joins a number of other ways to get the books that you’re looking for:

  • Is the book in the Chandler Library catalog but checked out or available at a different Chandler Library location? Place a hold in our catalog!
  • Is the book on a long waiting list in our catalog because there aren’t many copies? Try MAX!
  • Is the book you want not in our catalog at all? Try MAX!
  • Is the book you want not in our catalog, but it’s a fairly new book or a missing book in a series? Try Suggest a Purchase.
  • Is the book you want not in our catalog, but it’s a specialized title (professional, medical, academic, etc.)? Try Interlibrary Loan. There is a small charge for the Interlibrary Loan service.

Not sure which option is right for you? Ask us! Chandler Library – along with other public libraries county-wide – is in the business of helping you find the book you’re looking for!
