StoryWalk Week and Other Changes at Sunset Library

Sunset Library has a lot going on! Check out our new StoryWalk for kids, our Teen Space, a new area for programs on the patio and more! Just in time for StoryWalk Week!

Our newly remodeled patio is great for reading, relaxing and even programming! The Sunset patio now has seating areas – think cute benches and sturdy tables and chairs for reading, gathering and to enjoy fun and educational programming. Come see the seedlings that our younger patrons planted in a recent gardening program for kids. The patio even has a water bottle refill station.

When you check out our new patio, make sure to stop at Sunset Park and see the newly installed Music Garden and StoryWalk! Library patrons and park goers alike can enjoy a story that includes movement from page to page, then patrons can continue moving and grooving with a Marimba, Calypso Chimes and Flower Petal Drums. Looking for other StoryWalks? These picture book displays can be found at parks around Chandler! Celebrate StoryWalk Week* and check out what’s on display at which parks now and coming soon. Take a walk, read a book and have an adventure!

Before the school year started, Sunset staff worked on providing an area for some of our favorite patrons – our teens! Currently a work in progress, our teen space includes all things for teens – games, a whiteboard, coloring, a place to share their artwork and tables and chairs for studying, relaxing or reading a new favorite book.

Don’t forget Sunset’s Seed Library! Adults and kids alike can get growing with free seeds and literature about gardening. (Three seed packets per household per month, please.)

* StoryWalk Week is sponsored by Let’s Move in Libraries and the Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
