The Makery FAQs

  • General Questions

    There is a minimum 48-hour lead time for booking equipment in The Makery Lab. This allows staff to review your request and ensure the best experience possible. While there is no minimum lead time for booking The Makery Studio, same-day requests may still require time for approval based on staff availability.

    • You must complete the Makery Lab Orientation with a 90% or higher on the included quiz.
    • You must Sign the Liability Waiver.
    • You are responsible for understanding how to use the equipment as staff will not teach how to use the equipment or be in the space with you. Instead, follow a tutorial or check the Events Calendar for upcoming library programs.
    • To use the Glowforge, you must attend an in-person safety course and pass a quiz. Click here for upcoming sessions. If you cannot attend, you can Contact Us and request to meet with Makery staff one-on-one.

    You can access the library's Glowforge account at app.glowforge.com. This will allow you to edit your project from home and spend more time working with the Glowforge during your visit. Username is downtown@chandlerlibrary.org and password is Makerspace2

    This is a public account shared with other library patrons and staff. Please respect others' privacy and only attend to your own projects.

    To access other Makery software such as Cura or Cricut Design Space, library staff will log you into the program upon your arrival.

    You must be 14 or older to make a booking. If you are younger than 14 you must have a parent or guardian present during your booking.

    You must be 16 or older to make a booking. Younger than 16 must have a parent or guardian present during your booking.

    Yes, the online system will only work with a valid Chandler library card and PIN.
