Resources for Travel

Planning a summer trip? Or maybe you’re just an armchair traveler. You may already have used travel guidebooks from your library, but did you know we have a world of other resources? Check out some of our best travel resources, free with your library card and accessible online 24/7!

Global Road Warrior is a country-by-country collection of articles about history, holidays and festivals, music, and more. Learn what you need to know about customs, money, tipping and even which electrical adapters to bring. It’s a great resource for kids doing country reports, too.

PressReader features a wide variety of magazines and newspapers from all over the world. Check out travel magazines like National Geographic Traveller and Condé Nast Traveller - and take a look at their European and other worldwide editions, too! Practice your Spanish or French with foreign-language newspapers, or take a photo tour with full-color magazines from far away places.

Need to start on your language learning before traveling abroad? Check out Mango Languages, with lessons in over 70 languages featuring memory-building exercises, grammar and culture notes, foreign films (for select languages) and more!

To access these resources, visit chandlerlibrary.org, use the Browse the Library dropdown to choose Online Resources - All, then choose your resource. You can find download links for mobile apps here, too (where available). If you’re using PressReader outside the library, choose Sign in with Library or Group, then choose Chandler Public Library to get free access with your library card. If you’re using Mango Languages, create a free account using your library card number and Mango will keep track of where you are in your lessons.

Can’t make it to the library to get a card? We offer eCards that allow access to our online resources! If you’re a Maricopa County resident, you can fill out the online form to register for your eCard. See more at our Get a Card page. eCard users can come to the library at any time to upgrade to a full-access card that allows checkout of books and other physical materials.

Don’t forget, National Library Week is April 23 - 29. It’s a great time to learn about the many resources your library offers to you, including Global Road Warrior, Press Reader and Mango Languages!
