Keep Reading all Summer with Ebooks for Kids

Keep the kids reading all summer! Try TumbleBooks - a collection of ebooks you can use on your computer!  TumbleBooks has picture books, chapter books, and nonfiction books for young readers, all in a multimedia presentation with text, sound, and animation. Some books even have associated games to play, and there are also language learning books and short educational videos.

CloudLibrary has ebooks and audio ebooks for kids, too! From favorites like Pete the Cat to classics like Charlotte’s Web, you can check out up to 10 ebooks and keep them for 14 days. You can also read them offline once you've downloaded them, and they turn themselves in automatically - no late fines!

To access these ebook providers, start at chandlerlibrary.org, choose Browse the Library from the menu, then Online Resources and All. Then choose CloudLibrary or TumbleBooks. You’ll need your library card and PIN if you’re signing in from home. CloudLibrary also has apps you can use to check out and read on your Android / iOS device or Kindle Fire. In CloudLibrary, choose Browse and then Kids Fiction or Kids Nonfiction.

Can’t make it to the library to get a card? We offer eCards that allow access to our online resources, including CloudLibrary and TumbleBooks! If you’re a Maricopa County resident, you can fill out the online form to register for your eCard. See more at our Get a Library Card page. eCard users can come to the library later to upgrade to a full-access card that allows checkout of books and other physical materials.

Don’t forget to get points for all that reading! The Summer Reading Challenge is on, for pre-readers, kids, teens, and adults. If you're reading to your child, it counts for both of you, and this year we have great new prizes and prize drawings for adults. Create an online account to log your points, then come to the library to pick up your prizes! Now through August 1.
