Have you checked out Beanstack? This online reading platform is a fun way to track your reading, connect with other readers, and increase your motivation to read with seasonal challenges. This fall, Beanstack joins the Arizona State Library and the U.S. Forest Service to celebrate Smokey Bear’s 80th birthday! The Beanstack Smokey Bear Challenge runs Sept. 22 through Oct. 31.
All ages can participate in this special challenge, but kids aged 4 to 11 get special incentives. Read three books and complete four activities to earn badges and complete the challenge. Kids who complete the challenge will be entered into a drawing for a special Smokey Bear & nature-themed prize pack, and they can visit their home library branch to claim an official completion certificate!
You can read anything you like for this challenge, but books on fire, wildfire prevention, and nature are especially relevant.
