Science fair season is coming up! Whether you or students at home need to get started on science projects, or if you just want to learn more about science, we’ve got resources for you! Gale in Context: Science features articles on science topics from aerodynamics to zoology, biographies of scientists, and an entire category for science projects and experiments.
To access Gale Science, start at chandlerlibrary.org and choose the Research & Learning tab. Then choose A-Z List of Resources and scroll down to choose Science. You’ll need your library card and PIN if you’re signing in from home. Then you can do a basic search for your subject or scroll down to browse popular topics. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Browse All Topics" to view the entire list including Science Fair Projects and Experiments.
We’ve got more, too! Science-minded hobbyists can find science & technology projects like ham radio, model rockets, and robotics in Hobbies and Crafts Reference Center. Our streaming video service, Kanopy, has a range of documentary and instructional video in science, technology, and math. Don’t forget LinkedIn Learning,* a collection of video courses in all kinds of technology and computer-related fields. It’s all free with your library card!

Can’t make it to the library to get a card? We offer eCards that allow access to our online resources! If you’re a Maricopa County resident, you can fill out the online form to register for your eCard. See more at our Get a Card page. eCard users can come to the library at any time to upgrade to a full-access card that allows checkout of books and other physical materials.
More news for science lovers: the Arizona SciTech Festival is back in 2023! Now in its twelfth year, this festival celebrating STEM for all ages will kick off on Jan. 21 and feature events across the state. Chandler will celebrate with the Chandler Innovation Fair on Feb. 25, partnering with Chandler Unified School District. Stop in at the Downtown Chandler Library during the Chandler Innovation Fair for Downtown Makery Day, a family program to learn about the Makery and try out robotics kits.
