Oct. 20 - 26 is National Friends of Libraries Week, a perfect time to celebrate Friends of Chandler Public Library!
The Chandler Public Libraries are funded by the City of Chandler, but public funding only goes so far. Additional assistance from the Friends supports programs and services including adult literacy classes, early childhood reading programs, the Makery, the Our Stories speaker series, teen volunteer recognition, and the Teen Advisory Council. New this year, the gift will fund LinkedIn Learning, an online educational resource available to Chandler Public Library cardholders for free. Funding from the Friends will also support Chandler’s new mobile library, coming in 2025.
You can help support the Friends – along with the Chandler Public Library and your community – by making a donation, shopping at or donating to the Friends Bookshop at the Downtown and Sunset locations, and other giving options. Special opportunities this fall include the Vintage Book Sale, now through Oct. 29, and the Season of Friendship (details coming soon). See the Friends of Chandler Public Library page to learn more, and thank you for your friendship!
Chandler Public Library volunteer and Friends board member Amrita shares her story.
