Steve is a retired policeman, living in a small town in southern England and trying not to get too busy with his informal private investigation business. Amy is his daughter-in-law, who calls him every day while traveling for her job as an elite bodyguard. Rosie is Amy's latest client, a bestselling and eccentric romance novelist who featured a character based a little too closely on a Russian billionaire and now must evade his death threats. But now someone is coming after Amy, someone who might be behind three recent and bizarre deaths of social media influencers, someone who thinks Amy knows too much about a previous client. Amy goes on the run with a surprisingly resourceful Rosie and calls in help from Steve, and - no surprise at all given the author - wackiness ensues.
We Solve Murders launches a new mystery series by Richard Osman, best known for his Thursday Murder Club series. True to form, the whodunnits come with a hefty dose of dry humor, and while Steve, Amy, and Rosie might not be quite as delightful as the beloved Thursday Murder Club members, they still take us on a madcap ride. This new series will be one to watch. - Michelle (Sunset)
