A Space for Games
Dragon's Den at Chandler Downtown Library
By Chandler Library Board Member, Alexis Merritt

Besides having over 180 Board Games in our collection, the Chandler Public Library's new Book and Board Library Lounge at the Downtown location has a secret Board Game Room! The Dragon's Den has room for 6 players in the freshly painted game space in the back of the Library Lounge. It can be reserved with your CPL Library Card online up to a week in advance, for 3 hours at a time.

My friends, husband, and I were able to reserve this room to learn the new-to-us game, Wingspan! Having a custom board game table to play this beautiful game meant we had all of our beautiful colored wooden eggs, painted dice, and numerous bird cards contained with nothing rolling off onto the floor. The table has cup holders, which were perfect for the Keurig coffee and freshly baked Otis Spunkmeyer cookies hot out of the oven we purchased at the Lounge. Is the Dragon's Den booked for the time you'd like to come? Not to worry, you can pick out one of the many games on our shelves and play in the Lounge, or provide your ID and take your game to play near the windows in the front of the library where there are plenty of tables. If you'd like a great way to escape the heat this summer, come check out the Book and Board Library Lounge with your family and friends today!
