Fun for the kids during Dinovember

Bring your dinosaur loving children and future paleontologists to our dino-themed programs. Pick up a 3-D puzzle kit from the Makery, "dig up" bones, make a dino hat, and much more. Check out these Dinovember events. 

 

Its National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)

The NaNoWriMo for Young Writers series brings kids ages 9-12 together to pursue their dream of becoming an author. Meet at the Downtown Library every Monday afternoon at 3:30 pm during November for writing tips, ideas, and to share your developing story. Learn more. 

NaNoWriMo for Teens offers a cozy place to write at the Hamilton Library every Wednesday in November at 5:30 pm. Meet fellow teen writers and take on the challenge of writing your novel. Learn more.

 

Sustainability Programs in November 

There are many ways to creatively reuse old materials and design new objects! This month the library features programs for all ages about upcycling. Make an art kit or a cardboard robot, or try out scratch art. Learn to weave plastic bags into sleeping mats to help the homeless. Check out the variety of programs this month!  

For those of you who love to garden, the fall is the time to gather your summer plant seeds and preserve them for future seasons. Join us at the Sunset Library on Wednesday, November 9 at 6:00 pm for Seed Collecting & Saving. Don't forget to visit Sunset's Seed Library to pick up some new seeds. Learn more.

 

What's Happening at the Makery? 

On Wednesday, November 9, join us for The Makery Studio: What's Inside?- a look at the Makery Studio. Learn about the equipment and programs available for you to do graphic design, as well as record and edit video and audio. Program starts at 6:30 pm. 

Turn your creativity on at the latest Makery workshop: Recycled Keychain. On Tuesday, November 15, bring your scrap materials and learn how to engrave and cut your very own Makery keychain. Read more about what's required and your finished product! Registration is required. 

 

Storytime Break in December

Get your fill of storytimes, STEAM Club, and STEAM Jr in November, because these programs are going on break starting the week of December 5. They'll be back the week of January 9.

 

Re-Vitalized! A collaboration between the Chandler Public Library and the Vision Gallery

Art Quilts XXVII: Re-Vitalized! opens on November 19, 2023 at the Vision Gallery, and showcases artworks created from previously discarded, recycled, and repurposed materials.
