Summer Programs for Kids and Teens

Summer Reading is on! School’s out and the weather is hot - why not go to the library! Not only can the kids and teens (and adults, too!) sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge to read and earn prizes, but we have a full calendar of special events for the summer. Check out some of our featured events for kids and teens.

Adventures with Jungle Jill
Hamilton Library, June 1 at 11 a.m.
An up-close and interactive experience with live birds and reptiles. For kids 0-12 and family.

Here Be Monsters
Downtown Chandler Library, June 1 at 3 p.m.
A family mapmaking adventure. For kids 6-12.

Arizona Rick, Balloon Cowboy
Downtown Chandler Library, June 14 at 10 a.m.
This summer favorite will perform for kids of all ages.

Monsoon Dust Globes
Sunset Library, June 16 at 2:30 p.m.
Learn about Arizona’s crazy summer weather, then make your own dust globe. Registration required. For teens 13-17.

Riso Printing
Hamilton Library, June 16 at 2 p.m.
Downtown Chandler Library, June 25 at 1 p.m.
Design your own bookmark with risograph printing. Registration required for the Hamilton session. For teens and adults.

Tiny Art Show
Hamilton Library, June 18 at 2 p.m.
Create tiny paintings to take home or display in Hamilton’s Tiny Art Show. Registration required. For teens 13-17.

Lost at Sea
Basha Library, June 24 at 2 p.m.
A STEAM adventure packed with action and science. For kids 6-12.

DIY Ceramic Turtle Banks
Basha Library, June 28 at 5:30 p.m.
Paint your own adorable piggy bank. Registration required. For teens 13-17.
