Looking for: Genealogy Resources?

Summer is family reunion season and a great time for researching your family history. The library can help - check out our genealogy resources to get you started!

Ancestry is the best-known resource for amateur genealogists, and you can come to your library to access it for free. Sign on to any of the library computers with your library card and access all of Ancestry - there’s no subscription required because we’ve paid it for you! You can also bring in your own laptop and connect to our wi-fi; those without laptops or library cards can get a $2 guest pass to use our computers.

We also have resources you can access from home! HeritageQuest offers access to census records, books of local history, and other records. To access HeritageQuest from home, start at chandlerlibrary.org, choose Browse the Library from the menu, then Online Resources and All. Scroll down to choose HeritageQuest, then enter your library card and PIN numbers.

Can’t make it to the library to get a card? We offer eCards that allow access to our online resources, including CloudLibrary and TumbleBooks! If you’re a Maricopa County resident, you can fill out the online form to register for your eCard. See more at our Get a Library Card page. eCard users can come to the library later to upgrade to a full-access card that allows checkout of books and other physical materials.
