Events You Might Not Know About

Get out of the heat! Chandler Public Library has lots of things to do. You might already be thinking of book groups and children’s storytime*, special presentations like Our Stories and featured events like Seed Swap, but did you know about all the other offerings we have, including activities for adults and teens? Check it out!

Cactus Stitchers
Sunset Library, fourth Saturday of the month, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Love to knit, crochet, sew, embroider, or make jewelry? Join Cactus Stitchers and enjoy working with others on special creations. Please bring your own supplies. Audience: adults.

Craft After Dark
Downtown Library Makery, every other month on the first Monday, 6 - 7:30 p.m. (see calendar for dates)
A Makery series of rotating crafts including tiny art and seasonal fun. Supplies and instruction provided. Audience: adults, teens, and kids ages 9 and up.

Drum Circle
Downtown Library, first Sunday of the month, 2 - 4 p.m.
Join the Chandler Drum Circle and discover the connection and therapy of drumming! Experience not necessary! A limited number of hand percussion instruments are available for those without their own instruments. Audience: adults and teens 12 and up.

Outside the Lines - Adult Coloring
Downtown Library, first and third Wednesday of the month, 10 a.m. to noon
Connect with others and have fun with this timeless activity of coloring! We provide coffee, coloring pages, and colored pencils, but feel free to bring your own too. Audience: adults.

Plarn Drop-In
Sunset Library, third Monday of the month, 4 - 7 p.m.
Plarn = plastic + yarn! Looking for ways to give back while also conserving and living more sustainably? Join us to create sleeping mats for those in need out of your everyday grocery bags! Audience: adults, teens.

Puzzle Swap
Basha Library, second Saturday of the month, 10 - 11 a.m.

Calling all puzzle people! Let’s connect at our next puzzle swap! Bring up to five gently-used, complete puzzles in their original boxes and swap them for some new-to-you masterpieces.

Sewing Lab
Downtown Library Makery, second Monday of the month, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Know how to sew but don't have a sewing machine? Join us in the Makery to use one our machines, meet fellow sewists, and work independently on your own project. Please bring your own fabric, patterns, notions, and other supplies. Audience: adults and teens.

Stitch'n Time
Basha Library, every Friday, noon to 2 p.m.
Love to knit, crochet, quilt, or embroider? Want to connect with others while working on your fiber arts project? Bring your own materials and join us! Audience: adults.

Tabletop Meet-up
Downtown Library Book & Board Lounge, second Wednesday of the month, 5:30 - 7 p.m.
Enjoy tabletop gaming? Join us each month as we play a variety of games from board game classics like Catan to tabletop RPGs such as Pathfinder and Dungeons & Dragons. Audience: adults and teens.
Want to host your own game night? Reserve the Dragon’s Den game room!

Teen Dungeons & Dragons Club

T.G.I.F. Quilting
Downtown Library Makery, second and fourth Fridays of the month, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Quilters of any age or skill level are invited to bring a hand or machine project to work on. Our eclectic group is warm, inviting, and fun. Whether you are new to quilting or a seasoned pro, you'll fit right in! Audience: adults.

Writing Group
Downtown Library, first and third Saturdays of the month, noon to 2 p.m.
This group is for writers who want to successfully write the stories that mean the most to them, and then get them out into the world. Facilitated by local author Andrew Flynn. Audience: adults and teens.
