Chandler Multicultural Festival
The Friends of Chandler Library are proud sponsors of the annual Multicultural Festival with Chandler’s Human Relations Commission. This exciting one-day event highlights the cultural diversity of our community through dancing and musical performances, storytelling, ethnic foods and visual art.
The festival is a free, family event which brings together people of all ages and ethnic groups to experience and celebrate the arts of many cultures in a pleasant, easily accessible setting.
The Friends of Chandler Library initiated the Chandler Multicultural Festival in 1995 to bring the community together for a day-long arts event, while also learning more about our community’s rich cultural diversity. The festival, once a signature event organized by the Friends, has evolved into a city-wide celebration, held at the library plaza and courtyard in downtown Chandler.
The Multicultural Festival is a part of Chandler’s Celebration of Unity with other annual events held each January to recognize our community's heritage and diversity, and to honor the vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and the civil rights movement.
Over the years, thousands of visitors have come to enjoy the main stage performances, arts and crafts demonstrations, children's art booths, storytelling tent, marketplace and international food court.
The Multicultural Festival also provides a venue for the Friends to sell used books, promote membership and inform the community about its mission to support library programs. Stop by the Friends' booth at the Festival for more information about how to become involved with our efforts.
