Basic Education or GED Test Preparation in a classroom setting |

Classes meet twice a week for
three hours.

Morning or evening classes
available

Sessions are approximately 12 weeks.

Class days and times may be
selected after registration and placement testing.

Classes are open to students 16
years and older who are not currently enrolled in high school.
For students age 16 –17, an official withdrawal slip is
required.

Proof of
U.S. citizenship or legal residency is required for this
class.

Class openings are limited. Dates
subject to change.

will receive information on the Chandler Public Library
Adult Education Services and will be able to make an
appointment for testing and advisement. An advisor
will work with you to determine the services that are best
suited to meet your individual goals. Call Donna at

GED Testing |
- Offered one Saturday a month at the Downtown Chandler Library
- Done on first come, first served basis.
- You must be at least 16 years of age and withdrawn
from school in order to take the GED test.
- Bring two forms of ID such as a driver’s license AND
a social security card or birth certificate.
- If you are under 18 years of age, you will also need to
bring a withdrawal form from your last school of attendance, AND
a notarized letter from your parent or guardian giving their
permission for you to take the test. Sample

Lab Schedule
Fall 2008 Hours
Monday and Wednesday 12:00 - 5:00 PM
Tuesday and Thursday 2:00 - 6:00 PM.
Sunday 2:00 - 5:00 PM.
Come during any
Learning Lab hours. No registration required. Located
on the 2nd floor of the Downtown Chandler Library. Closed during
Chandler School District intersessions and holidays. Learning Lab
is made possible by Friends of the Chandler Public Library and the
City of Chandler.

Volunteer
Opportunities
|
- Qualifications: Tutors must be
18 years of age or older, speak English well, read and write English at a
12th grade level, and have a high school diploma or GED. Desirable
qualities include patience, flexibility, cultural sensitivity, enthusiasm,
and a sense of humor.
- Responsibilities: Tutors must
attend 20 hours of pre-service training (including 6 hours of on-line
courses), submit required status reports, maintain appropriate behavior
with their learner, and meet the time commitment of two hours per week for
a minimum of nine months.
- Support Provided: Professional
development and support for tutors is available through on-going tutor
communication, in-service workshops, and individual consultation with
staff. All instructional materials are provided free of charge.

Become a Tutor and work one-on-one or lead a
